Discover the Region of Murcia

A privileged climate, sun, two seas, culture, a gastronomy made up of 1,001 flavours and incredible natural spaces. Find it all in a single destination: the Region of Murcia, in south-eastern Spain.

If you are looking for culture, you cannot miss the cities of Murcia, Cartagena, Lorca and Caravaca de la Cruz. In Murcia, the obligatory stop is the Cathedral of Santa María, with the second highest tower in Spain. In Cartagena, the Roman Theatre will leave you speechless. And Lorca, also known as the City of the Sun, will seduce you with its charms and medieval fortress. And did you know that this Region has a Jubilee city? It is Caravaca de la Cruz, which will celebrate its next Jubilee Year in 2024.

Sea lovers will be in luck on the coast of the Region of Murcia, known as the Costa Cálida. Thanks to the combination of its two seas, the Mar Menor and the Mediterranean, and its mild temperatures, it is possible to practise an infinite number of water sports all year round: diving, canoeing, surfing, sailing... You just have to choose. And if you want to relax and contemplate the perfect combination of sea and nature, the Calblanque Regional Park or the Salinas y Arenales de San Pedro del Pinatar Regional Park are real coastal treasures that are well worth a visit.

If you want to disconnect and breathe fresh air, this destination offers a total of 22 protected natural spaces. In the Sierra Espuña Regional Park, for example, you can practise sports such as climbing, hiking, cycling... This area has the highest concentration of trees in the region and is the first area to be endorsed by the European Charter for Sustainable Tourism (CETS).

In terms of gastronomy, the Region of Murcia is a real paradise for 'foodies'. Join the 'tapas' trend and expand your gastronomic vocabulary with 'marinera', 'arroz caldero', 'paparajote' or 'café asiático'. Did you know that this is known as 'La Huerta de Europa'?

And, in addition to 1,001 flavours, this land has three protected designations of origin with three wine routes certified by the Spanish Association of Wine Cities (ACEVIN): Bullas, Jumilla and Yecla. Shall we toast?
