Pretty Woman

Next season, the adaptation of the famous 1990 film Pretty Woman, directed by Garry Marshall and starring Julia Roberts and Richard Gere, arrives in Madrid after a successful season in Barcelona. A film that caused a furore in its time and continues to be a hit in our country, leading the audience in practically every television screening.

The plot of the film is about Edward Lewis, a wealthy businessman who travels regularly to Los Angeles, where he stays in the suite of a luxurious hotel, the Regent Beverly Wilshire. After an argument with his girlfriend, his business partners suggest that he needs to be accompanied to a business meeting.

In an ambivalent decision, he brings a prostitute, Vivian Ward, who behaves rather vulgarly, to the hotel, but Edward is attracted to the woman and offers her to stay with him for the whole week in exchange for $3,000. She agrees to this transaction. Over the course of the week, they get to know each other, become intimate and develop feelings for each other. Edward pays for Vivian's expensive, brand-name clothes so that she can dress according to her socioeconomic status and accompany him to the social events he usually attends.

Eventually, they will fall in love and form a stable couple, where her influence on Edward's change of attitude towards business will be notable, and where he will renounce his destructive policy of buying up companies and then cleaning them up and selling them, in favour of a policy of building and maintaining companies.
